Oddities this morning

As we get closer to halloween I am noticing more oddities on my street and even in my yard. This morning on my walk for example I saw a snake, mouse and squirrel, but all of them were dead and within 10 feet of each-other. Mass suicide I thought to myself. Have the woodland creatures of my area made some unholy pact.

Then in my own yard I noticed that some of those very same woodland fuzzies had been eating the inanimate objects. For example






One of the bird feeders had the perches chewed off. Why would they do that? Are they missing vitamin-P (aka plastic) in their diet.

Then there was this interesting find



A frog statue that sits in one of our flower beds had its eyes gnawed off. What does it mean? Should I be alarmed? Should I call the ghostbusters?

Odd decor

My wife and I went out to dinner with my mother-in-law on Friday. We went to a little Vietnamese place we had been to about a dozen times, but for the first time I found myself needing to use the restroom. It was your basic small restaurant in a strip mall bathroom. You know toilet, sink, air freshener and employees must wash their hands sign. What I took notice of though was the border wallpaper, a bass fishing motif. Not exactly reminiscent of distant lands.

Inappropriate munching

I spent part of my day at the hospital waiting for father-in-law to have a procedure. After sitting for a while my wife and I went downstairs for some nourishment. We came back to the heart Cather lab waiting room with a Philly cheesesteak and cheese fries.



I know it is so wrong but it tastes so right. I could overlook the irony of eating artery clogging food in the exact place where I may return one day return to have my arteries unclogged, but eating in the war-zone of bacteria should have been a little more concerning to me.
