Day off grilling

Today was my day off from work so we decided to grill out before the days get too hot or buggy in these parts. We turned to the "cooking in the moment" cookbook by Andrea Reusing for a spring idea.
We decided on cast iron skillet fresh trout and headed out to see our local fish monger and then to the grocery store for some other weekly supply needs.
It feel very primal when you are cooking whole animals. Off to the grill with you fishies.
Add to it some fava greens mixed with mixed cherry tomatos as a side dish and we my friends are eating very very well.

Sunday morning

Came back from a morning walk and found that not only can I watch English premier league soccer this morning but also the cricket championships (India v Sri Lanka). Looks like the remote last channel button is in for a workout today.

Phone photos

Sometimes I go back through all the photos on my phone and wonder why I kept them, so let me give them back to the internet so I can delete them and then wonder why I had them in the first place.

The plague

So spring has come to the capital city, but the plaque has come to our home. Both the wife and I are down for the count today, and for the past few days. Paige is a few days ahead of me in the symptom time table, but I'm running her down quickly.  I actually had to call out of work today for the first time it over a decade. Ironically i have called out of work truthfully at the time of year when there is the most fake call outs (march madness).  So even though it's not even 10am and a beautiful spring day I must say goodnight.

Snow again

There is something special about the silence that appears as snow falls. The world, including work which is still a few hours from now, seems so far away. Tens of birds take turns at the feeders while I hear many others talking from the surrounding trees. Ahhh snow fall you intrigue me so.

Gizmo's view

A puppy’s view on the world. As I surf the web, pay bills and do taxes, my pup watches the world, especially the birds, go by.

Corn cart

Just wanted to announce that after some serious thinking and tough negotiations I have decided to give up pharmacy in favor of my new life as a corn vendor on the streets of old #jerusalem. The kid tried to play hard ball but I got cart with inventory for a cool 50k.
