The airport

I'm waiting it the airport for my brother to arrive from florida. Just gonna say how much I love airports. They are so exciting. People coming and going. The excitement of trips getting ready to begin. The happiness of reunions with lived one. The relief to be back in familiar surroundings.

One of my favorite parts is honestly the people watching. Why across from me right now sits a couple, I'm guessing in their early fifties, both what I would consider to be waaaaay over-dressed for plane travel. The man, his blue blazer pressed so crisp it still stands up as he sits down, is also wearing a wide brimmed hat, the type I would imagine you only wear on a cruise ship to shade your face as you sleep. His wife wearing what would to most women be consider every piece of jewelry they own.

The business men talk continuously on their phones, as to appear more important than what they actually are. A fat lady is sleeping in a chair, her purse rising and falling on her chest as she breathes. The military folks some in their best dress uniforms, talk with those in their civilian duds. An old lady gets up for the fifth time to check the arrival/departure board, expecting it to change, she checks her watch and sits down again. The family running late scrambles by leaving small children along the way, stop for a moment for all to catch up then continue rushing along.

Ahhhh the airport such a magical place.
